WordBlockCrush is easy to pick up but has more depth than it first appears. This complete guide walks through every rule, control, and scoring system so you can go from spelling your first word to clearing high levels with confidence. The goal of the game

Each level gives you a target score. Spell words on the 6x6 letter board to earn points, and once you reach the target you advance to the next level, which sets a higher target. There is no timer and no move limit, so WordBlockCrush is a relaxed puzzle you can play at your own pace — the only pressure is the score you are chasing.

Controls: how to spell a word

Press a letter, then drag across connected tiles to build a word. On a touchscreen, hold your finger down and slide it from letter to letter; on a desktop, click and hold the mouse button while you move across the grid. Release when your word is complete to submit it.

• Letters must be next to each other — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
• Words must be at least three letters long.
• You cannot reuse the same tile twice within a single word.
• A live preview above the board shows the word you are forming and turns green when it is valid.

Crushing and cascading

When you submit a valid word, those tiles crush and disappear. Every tile above the gap then slides down to fill the space, and brand-new letters drop in from the top. This cascade is the heart of the game: the board is always refreshing, so you never truly run out of words. A little planning lets you set up the letters that fall next, which is the key to long scoring streaks.

How scoring works

Points reward longer words, so length is the single biggest lever on your score. Here is how each word is valued:

• Every letter in a valid word is worth a base amount, so a five-letter word scores far more than three three-letter words.
• Reaching five letters or more adds a length bonus on top of the base points.
• Any gold Bonus Block included in your word adds extra points to that word.

Because of this, two short words rarely beat one long word made from the same letters. Training your eye to spot five- and six-letter words is the fastest way to raise your average score.

Bonus Blocks (the gold stars)

Some tiles appear as gold Bonus Blocks marked with a star. Including one in a word does two things: it adds bonus points immediately, and it fills your bonus meter (shown near the top of the board). Bonus Blocks appear at random, so grab them whenever you can route a word through one.

The Bonus Round

Fill the bonus meter by using enough Bonus Blocks and you trigger a Bonus Round — a quick slot-machine sequence where the board automatically scans for words and awards extra points for you. You do not have to do anything during the round except enjoy the points. After it ends, the requirement to trigger the next Bonus Round rises slightly, so the rounds stay rewarding without becoming automatic.

Levels and targets

Clear a level by hitting its target score and a results screen appears. Tap Next Level to continue. Each new level raises the target, so the challenge scales gradually as your skills improve. Your score carries forward, so a strong early level gives you a head start on the next.

Shuffling the board

Stuck and cannot find a word you like? Use the Shuffle button to rearrange every tile. You get a limited number of shuffles per game (three), so treat them as a safety net rather than a habit. Most "stuck" boards still hide a three-letter word or two — scan the vowels first before spending a shuffle.

Your high score

Your best score is saved automatically in your browser and shown above the board as "Best." It stays on your own device and gives you a personal record to beat each time you play. Clearing your browser data will reset it.

Playing on mobile vs. desktop

WordBlockCrush is built to play well anywhere. On phones and tablets the board scales to fit your screen and the tiles stay large enough to drag comfortably with a thumb. On desktop you get a bigger board and can drag with the mouse. The game runs entirely in your browser with nothing to install.
